Here's why: First, Glen (lead maker) invites you to choose from his woodpile for the level of color or striation you want on the headboard. (We did, emphasizing grain match, and the result is resplendent.) Second, he ships the bed in two wooden boxes, which turns the bigger side panels on each box into part of the bed (they become the platform under the mattress). The result: customized beauty with virtually no waste. What's not to love about that?”

“We love this frame! Glen sent me pictures of the wood and let me choose which one to use for the headboard. Glen is very responsive to questions and very helpful! The bed frame is easy to put together and pretty intuitive. The only thing that we could have used instructions on was that some of the boards that are used to make the shopping crate were also intended to be used as support beams for the mattress. Such an ingenious idea! They fit perfectly!”

“ Really beautiful bed. Glen was so nice to work with- we picked up the bed from his woodshop in Picton and he helped us make some last minute changes. His woodshop is also located in an old ww2 bunker which was pretty cool too! Assembly was easy although we had a little bit of trouble getting the plywood base to sit flat - but we sorted it out quickly enough. If I had to order again I might consider getting slats instead though. But overall very happy with the new bed. Thanks again Glen!”
