Glen Wallis

Glen Wallis,  owner of Wallis Design|Build and Wallis Awards is an expert in field of custom manufacturing, construction and design. He prides himself  on staying on top of the latest in manufacturing processes and products. His years of experience in project management range from landmark exhibitions in museums and galleries through-out Canada, the US and Europe to custom awards and high end custom residential interiors. Glen has worked closely with some of the best designers in the field.  Currently Glen is developing a unique line of furniture and accessories for the home, while delving more into his pure artistic talents in producing his “Composition Series”, wall reliefs and encaustic painting.


CV

1963 Born in Montreal.

1977 Moved to Vancouver. Studied cabinetry and worked in rough and fine carpentry while attending University of British Columbia.

1986 Graduated from UBC, diploma in Art History and degree in Sociology.

1987 Studied 1 year of architecture at UBC and left to focus on manufacturing.

1988 Moved to Toronto and became plant manager and head of project management in the display/exhibit industry.

1991 Head project manager for the Ontario Exhibit for Expo ‘92 Seville, Spain.

1992–2001 Owned and operated custom manufacturing shop specializing in permanent museum interiors, art galleries, theatres and casinos throughout Canada and the US.

1996–present Supply awards to the Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television in both Toronto and Montreal including the Gemini (Gemeaux), Genie, and Immortal.

2002–2009 Freelance Project Consultant.

2011–Present Co-designed and manufactured the Canadian Screen Award for the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.

2010–2012 Designed and built award winning bed and breakfast in Prince Edward County, Ontario called Away in the County.

2012–present Own and operate #1 rated bed and breakfast in Prince Edward County by Trip Advisor, Away in the County.   Design and develop custom home furnishings and accessory line.

2014 Produce and exhibit encaustic paintings and Composition series.

2015 Interior Design Show. Jan. 22nd–25th.
